• Plum

The plums of italian Vengerka sort are either dark-purple or bluish black with thick blue coating. The matured pulp is yellowish orange, very sweet and juicy. This sort of plums is very sensitive to the humidity of soil and air. It does not give harvest if the humidity is low, and the regular droughts lead to the tree's death. However, the sweetest and the fleshiest prunes are made from this sort of plums.

  • Prune

Prune is a dried domestic black plum (without bones). It stands out with its nutritional value and a pleasant taste. The plum belongs to the Rosaceae family and is originated as a result of natural crossing of cherry-plum and blackthorn. The best for drying are the plums of Italian Vengerka sort, which differs from the cherry-plum with its high content of sugar and solid pulp. These characteristics allow getting excellent prunes by drying the plums without using enzymes.

The content and the useful properties: the prunes have high energetic value, are rich with carbohydrates and sugar and contain a lot of vitamins (Е, beta-carotene, РР, С and the vitamins of B group), microelements (iron, potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, cobalt, iodine, zinc, fluoride, manganese and copper) and many other useful elements (sugar, cellulose, pectin, organic acids, starch, carbohydrates, proteins).
Due to the content of polyfenols, prunes increase the elasticity of vessels, which in its turn has its beneficial effect on the cardio-vascular system. Prunes have tonic effect; they increase the workability and improve the overall condition of the organism. They are highly recommended in case of anemia, diseases of the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. Prunes improve the carbohydrate metabolism, increase the resistance to the stresses, and have antibacterial, diuretic and laxative effects.
    The dried plums are rich in sugars (57.8 %), organic acids (3.5 %), cellulose (1.6 %), minerals- sodium (104 mg %), potassium (864 mg %), calcium (80 mg %), phosphorus (83 mg %) and iron (15 mg %).

In order to get 300g of prunes, 1800g of fresh fruits are used. The plums are grown on our own plantations, which are located 15 kilometers from Yerevan. Due to the innovative technology of drip irrigation, the trees get the optimal quantity of humidity. This results in ecologically clean, healthy and tasty harvest, which is then used for the production of delicious and useful prunes without preservatives and GMO. The prunes have to be preserved in dry, clean and cool place at a temperature of +5 to +25°С and relative humidity of no more than 70%. The shelf life of the product is 12 months.

  • Packing

The prunes are packed in three-layer polymer film with an aluminum base, which protects products from mold formation and maintains the freshness of the product.
Unlike the cellophane package, the polymer film does not allow the humidity which is destructive for the dried fruits. The packaging is useful for both disposable and repetitive use due to the Velcro-tape attached on the reverse side of the package.
